Built on the elegant curve of the Fibonacci spiral, this turtle painting blends natural geometry with vibrant ocean movement. Dean designed the entire layout around the spiral’s flow — with the turtle, coral, and currents aligning to the same golden pattern found throughout nature.
 
Subtle 3-6-9 placement appears in the shell, the coral branches, and the tree-like structures below, giving the piece a rhythm and balance you feel immediately.
 
Above the waterline, warm sky tones glow with soft sunset color. Beneath the surface, cool blues, teals, and deep underwater shades frame the turtle as it glides through its world.
 
This artwork took three months of focused work and was created specially for Mote Aquarium’s “Illumination” expansion, celebrating their mission to protect and understand the ocean.
